Judge Moot Court for the Marshall-Brennan Project!
Have you ever wanted to be on the other side of the Moot Court Bar? Well, here’s your chance to be a judge while helping New Haven public high school students. The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project will be holding a Moot Court competition at YLS on Saturday March 6th. Twenty-eight students from two area high schools will be competing. The students are paired in two-person teams, with each student arguing one of two questions presented:
1. Whether a Principal’s key logging search of a student’s computer violated the student’s Fourth Amendment rights?
2. Whether a Principal’s search of a student’s jean’s pockets violated the student’s Fourth Amendment rights?
In addition to the normal prizes awarded, the top eight students will advance to a national competition in Philadelphia!
