The Chicago Lawyer Chapter Presents "Police Oversight in Chicago"

Thursday, June 7, 2007 the Chicago Lawyer Chapter hosted an event entitled "Police Oversight in Chicago: Should the Office of Professional Standards be Changed or Replaced?".

A sell-out crowd of more than 80 lawyers, law students, and judges attended to hear the panel, consisting of Locke Bowman (Clinical Associate Professor Law and Director of the MacArthur Justice Center, Northwestern University School of Law), Craig Futterman (Clinical Professor of Law, Mandel Legal Aid Clinic, University of Chicago Law School), and Mara Georges (City of Chicago Corporation Counsel) discuss the Mayor's proposed ordinance to change the Office of Professional Standards. The panel was moderated by Scott Lassar (Partner, Sidley Austin LLP; Former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois) and was co-sponsored by the Chicago Council of Lawyers. Sidley Austin LLP, one of the Chicago Lawyer Chapter's sponsors, hosted the event.
