The discussion featured: Paulette Brown, Partner, Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP and Chair, ABA Commission on Women in the Profession - Women of Color Committee; Gregory S. Gallopoulos, Managing Partner, Jenner & Block LLP; Susan R. Lichtenstein, Corporate Vice President and General Counsel, Baxter International, Inc.; Pamela J. The discussion focused on strategies and practices that have impeded or improved law firms' ability to retain women of color attorneys. This program was a follow up to the Commission's study published in October, 2006 -- Visible Invisibility: Women of Color in Law Firms, a groundbreaking quantitative and qualitative research study describing the status of women of color in the legal profession. The report highlights statistical and real-life examples of obstacles women of color face in large law firms.
