Northeast Ohio's Foreclosure Crunch: New Strategies and Solutions for Our Community, Presented by the Northeast Ohio Chapter

On October 3, 2007 the Northeast Ohio Chapter hosted “Northeast Ohio's Foreclosure Crunch: New Strategies and Solutions for Our Community.” The community panel discussion featured James Boyle, Assistant Ohio Attorney General; Ruth M. Clevenger, Vice President and Community Affairs Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland; Prof. Kathleen Engel, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law; Jim Rokakis, Cuyahoga County Treasurer; and Louise J. Gissendaner, Senior Vice President and Director of Community Development, Fifth Third Bank.
As foreclosure rates in Northeast Ohio continue to climb, what can our government and corporate leaders do to stem the rising tide? What can we do as individual lawyers, borrowers and concerned citizens to protect our community's future? In a community discussion, panelists spoke to these questions and gave their opinions on one of the most critical issues facing our region today.
