On October 11, 2007, the Cardozo School of Law Student Chapter co-hosted, with the New York Lawyer Chapter, author and journalist Charlie Savage for a discussion of his book "Takeover: The Return of the Imperial Presidency and the Subversion of American Democracy."

Mr. Savage is National Legal Affairs Correspondent for The Boston Globe and Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting. The event was the final stop on Mr. Savage's nationwide book tour, during which he appeared on radio and television, and participated in similar events at which he discussed the major themes of this work and opened the floor for questions. Mr. Savage promoted the event on the local NPR affiliate in New York (WNYC) during an appearance on the Leonard Lopate Show (click to listen to audio). Despite poor weather, there was tremendous turnout and an engaged audience.
