Voter ID and Registration Laws: Is the Cure Worse than the Disease?

Many state laws currently require voters to bring photo ID to the polls and to register well in advance of an election. While sometimes defended as anti-fraud measures, these laws have been criticized as obstacles to voting, especially for students, the elderly, and racial minorities. Kristen Clarke, co-director of the Political Participation group NAACP, and Professor Zephyr Teachout will discuss legal defense and discuss the impacts these laws have and their implications for the upcoming elections.
