On January 18, over 80 people attended an event held by the ACS Boston Lawyer Chapter at Suffolk University Law School entitled: "The Alito Nomination and the Future of Reproductive Rights." The event included three panelists, Dan Avila, Associate Director of Public Policy, Massachusetts Catholic Conference, Louise Melling, Director, ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, and Lynn Paltrow, Founder and Executive Director, National Advocates for Pregnant Women, and was moderated by Massachusetts State Representative Marty Walz. The panelists’ presentations were excellent, and a lively dialogue followed the panel. The discussion focused the Alito confirmation’s likely effect on reproductive rights law, and included an in-depth analysis of the recent ruling of the Supreme Court in Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood.
